The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker will be playing at several venues throughout December this year.
Reno Dance Company will be putting on a version at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks beginning on December 15th. In addition to a stellar cast and gorgeous costumes, you will also enjoy lovely music and fantastic choreography. This show lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Reno's Pioneer Center will also hold the A.V.A. Ballet Theatre's version of The Nutcracker. This production starts on December 7th. The ballet theatre will be joined by the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra to play the traditional score. On the weekends, children will have the opportunity to meet their favorite characters from the show.

Reno Santa Pub Crawl

Downtown Reno will host a holiday pub crawl for those 21 and older on December 15th. The Santa Pub Crawl attracts thousands of people to downtown every year, each in the hope of finding some holiday spirits. In addition to bars open for business, pre-crawl events are also available for holiday fun.

Sparks Annual Hometowne Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting

If you are looking for more outdoor activities this winter, you can start with the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting on November 30th and December 1st. The event takes place at Victorian Square, and the festivities begin in the late morning hours. During the day, children will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa and participate in arts and crafts. Festivities also include an afternoon parade.
The tree-lighting ceremony will occur as night rolls in, offering spectacular viewings of the lights and decorations. Live music will be available as well. This event is certainly a great time for all.
